Dr. Hans-Joachim Bayer hands over to his successor

19.05.20 - Dr. Hans-Joachim Bayer has been contributing his comprehensive geological expertise to TRACTO-TECHNIK for 20 years. During this time, he made a decisive contribution to the development of horizontal drilling technology and towards extending its range of applications. At the end of the year, Dr. Bayer retired and handed over the geologist's hammer to his successor Dan Lingenauber. The passion of Dr. Hans Joachim Bayer has always been the underground in all its facets. Born in Southern Germany, he can look back on an impressive professional career. After graduation and dissertation in 1982, he worked as a research assistant at the Chair of Applied Geology at Karlsruhe University and as a guest researcher at the University of Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. From 1985 to 1989 he also worked as a technical and production manager for a large mine used for touristic purposes, which included the planning of several anchor bores. Since 1986 Dr. Bayer also worked as a scientific consultant for the drilling industry. From 1987 on, he worked exclusively as an industrial geologist and Head of Research and Development in the drilling industry. As a renowned expert in civil engineering and mining technology, Dr. Bayer has contributed his expertise to several major projects in Brazil, Greece, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt and the USA since 1997. Since the year 2000 he has been responsible for the New Business Development field for HDD-technologies and the Geoservice at TRACTO-TECHNIK.

His successor as Geoservices Manager is Dan Lingenauber. The geotechnical engineer has already been working for TRACTO-TECHNIK since 2019 and since then has experienced intensive theoretical and practical training through Dr. Bayer, who willingly passed on his extensive knowledge. Dan Lingenauber gained his first professional experience in the brown coalfields in Eastern Germany, He then worked for just over 10 years as a geotechnical engineer in the field for final disposals of radioactive waste, before he finally made his way back to his homeland in the Sauerland area, to TRACTO-TECHNIK.

As a result Dan Lingenauber is optimally equipped for his tasks. These include the continuation of subsoil consultancy for HDD projects with short statements, describing the essentials and offering the customer valuable assistance before making vital decisions. This continues to include nationwide geological advice at the jobsite, imparting knowledge on soil conditions, geotechnics and geology in training courses and seminars.

We would like to wish Dr. Hans-Joachim Bayer, respectively our “Hajo”, all the best for his retirement. We will miss him as an expert with his impressive knowledge as well as a lovable colleague and person. At the same time, we are pleased to have found Dan Lingenauber as an adequate successor, both professionally and personally.
